Child Labor

You've met Aggie,

our adorable and 1/3 of the time naughty dog.

She has become quite lucrative for our neighbor kids. Ali and twins Jake & Isaac approached us with their new business  - WE DO DOO-DOO. They clean up dog poop. Only charging 3 cents a poop (and seeing as we're their only clients), we couldn't pass up the opportunity.

The bill and accompanying receipt.
Call us what you want for taking advantage of little children - slave drivers, selfish, heartless *insert your word choice here* - but I believe it was a win-win situation.

*no children were harmed in this. also, we tipped well.

We're Going On A Bear Hunt

Do you remember singing that song in your preschool days?

The weekend before Memorial Day, we took a pre-camping/bear hunt trip with our friends Derrick and Jessica. We went to Featherville, ID and hiked, ate, fished, and just enjoyed the great outdoors. No bear in the end, but we left happy and relaxed after our weekend getaway.

Looking at this never gets old.

If you look really close you can tell this is actually a human, not nature.

Like Mom or Like Dad?

Don't get me wrong - the 3d ultrasounds are amazing, but I never know quite how to take them. Even though you can see features, it's hard to tell what the baby is going to look like until they come out. Incase you want a little peek of baby girl, here you go. Garrett thinks she looks like him...what do you think?

Mother's Day and Motherhood

Garrett is a very thoughtful person. Even when we were engaged, I have always received a Mother's Day gift from him, even though I wasn't a mother yet. This Mother's Day there was a gift, but this time with more meaning because soon I will be a mother.

For Mother's Day Garrett got me a Canon Rebel camera - something I have been dying to have since we've been married. With a babe on the way, we knew we wanted something great to capture all the memories. I am so excited to take pictures and maybe I'll even put some on this blog...(since I never do). Garrett also gave me a manicure and pedicure which I can't wait to take advantage of. I never thought that being pregnant meant I would let myself go so this gift is much needed.

I cannot wait to be a mother. I sat in church yesterday and looked around at all of the women who were celebrating Mother's Day. I loved seeing the older generation walk into church with their corsages pinned to their dresses. I remember my grandma always wearing one on mother's day that my grandpa had bought for her. I loved seeing an elderly sister walk into church with a big hat on with feathers, which she wore the entire 3 hours of church. I loved seeing the little babies looking over their mother's shoulder, something that I can't wait to embrace.

So with my camera in hand and a new manicure and pedicure, it looks like I'm getting closer and closer to really experiencing Mother's Day, but more importantly - MOTHERHOOD!
